Coming from Colorado to UNL was a huge step for me. It was the first time I would be on my own and I didn’t know a soul, so to say I was nervous would be an understatement. My nerves quickly turned to excitement the first time I walked through the door of Alpha Phi because I instantly felt at home. I still feel at home andsince I’m eight hours away from my parents, it’s a comforting feeling. Although being apart of Alpha Phi has presented me with many different opportunities (community service, philanthropies, campus involvement, ect.) it is the women that have changed my life in more ways than I could even begin to describe. I am amazedand inspired by them everyday, without fail. In the 5 months that I have been apart of this sisterhood, I have formed bonds that are closer than I’ve ever experienced. I have found my life long friends through Alpha Phi. Alpha Phi is a constant support system, a hug when you need one and even when you don’t, a study buddy on a Monday and a movie date on a Friday. I am eternally grateful for this sorority, the countless memories it has already brought me, and the 100+ sisters that I never had, but always wanted
